Little Sprouts & Co. is assisting a wonderful San Jose family in their search for an experienced, organized, and dependable Part-Time ROTA Nanny / Family Assistant for their two boys, ages 8.5 and 11.5.

This is a great opportunity for a nanny who enjoys working with school-age children, thrives with an organized afternoon routine, and is looking for a unique one-week-on / one-week-off schedule.

📍 Location — San Jose, CA

📅 Schedule — One week on / one week off — Monday–Friday. Approximately 3:00 PM–7:30 PM

The family is looking for someone who can maintain consistency and structure during their working weeks while building a warm, trusting relationship with the children.

💰 Compensation — $35–$46/hour DOE

🚗 Driving

Driving is an important part of this position.

The nanny will use their own reliable and insured vehicle to transport the children from school and to extracurricular activities throughout the San Jose/Almaden area.

Candidates must have a clean driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience in the United States.

👦 About the Children

Two boys, ages 8.5 and 11.5.

Their afternoons include school pickups and activities such as martial arts and soccer.

The family would especially love someone who can connect with their older son and gently encourage his confidence and help him come out of his shell.

🌱 Responsibilities

• School pickups

• Transportation to martial arts, soccer, and other activities

• Maintaining the children’s afternoon schedule

• Light grocery shopping on Wednesdays and Fridays

• Preparing a simple, healthy dinner for two children and one adult

• Meals typically consist of a protein with salad or soup

• Very light child/family-related housekeeping

• Helping the children stay organized and prepared for activities

• Providing an engaging, supportive presence for both boys

• Communicating clearly with the parent regarding schedules and the children’s needs

• Calm, thoughtful, kind, and organized

• An excellent and safety-conscious driver

• A strong communicator

• Comfortable taking initiative and managing a busy afternoon schedule

• A capable home cook, particularly with simple American/European-style meals

• Warm with children while still maintaining appropriate structure

• Highly proficient in English

• Experienced working with school-age children and/or preteens

• Professional, dependable, and discreet

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional childcare experience

• College degree

• At least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S.

• Clean driving record

• Reliable, insured vehicle

• Strong English proficiency

• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check

• Professional references

• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
