✨ A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR SOMEONE STARTING THEIR NANNY CAREER!

Little Sprouts & Co. is working with a warm, vibrant San Francisco family seeking a reliable, organized, and highly proactive Nanny/Family Assistant to become a long-term part of their household.

Extensive professional nanny experience is NOT required for this position! The family is open to candidates with little professional nanny experience or those looking to begin their career in private childcare. What matters most is maturity, dependability, initiative, professionalism, and a genuine ability to connect with children.

Some prior experience cooking or preparing meals for families is strongly preferred, as meal preparation is an important part of this role.

The household includes three energetic boys, ages 9, 6, and 4, as well as multiple adults. This is a lively, busy household, so the ideal candidate will enjoy being part of an active family environment and be comfortable jumping in wherever needed.

THE ROLE

The nanny will primarily help the family transition smoothly through the after-school and evening hours. The children thrive with structure and routine, and the family is looking for someone who can confidently help keep their evenings organized.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing vegetarian family dinners and having meals ready on time

  • Weekly meal planning, primarily completed on Thursdays

  • Setting the table and cleaning up after meals

  • Children’s/family laundry related to the role

  • Helping the boys through their evening routines, including baths and brushing teeth

  • Preparing backpacks and belongings for the following day

  • Loading/unloading the dishwasher and maintaining organization in the kitchen

  • Updating the family’s shared app when household or children’s items are running low

  • Encouraging the children to clean up after themselves and develop age-appropriate independence

  • Helping create consistent, organized routines

  • Supporting normal developmental and educational milestones

  • Proactively noticing what needs to be done and taking initiative without needing constant direction

If additional/morning hours are mutually agreed upon in the future, responsibilities may include preparing breakfast, making coffee for the parents, helping the children get ready for school, packing backpacks, and resetting the kitchen.

WHO THEY’RE LOOKING FOR

This family cares far more about attitude, reliability, and initiative than having an extensive professional nanny résumé.

They would love someone who is:

Warm & personable — someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and can build a positive relationship with the entire household.

Extremely reliable — punctuality and consistent attendance are incredibly important to this family.

A self-starter — they don’t want to have to provide a list every day. If you notice the dishwasher needs unloading, backpacks need organizing, or something needs restocking, you’re someone who naturally handles it.

Organized & structured — the family has a structured parenting style and values routines, education, respect, and consistency.

Professional — someone who understands how to be warm and involved while also recognizing when to give the family private time together.

ABOUT THE BOYS

Their oldest, 9, is curious, charming, and very talkative. Their 6-year-old is sweet and increasingly self-sufficient, while their youngest is an energetic 4-year-old who does best when his routine—especially mealtimes—stays consistent.

This is a screen-free household, and the parents strongly value education, independent thinking, and encouraging their children to use their creativity and problem-solving skills.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be dependable and punctual

  • Non-smoker

  • Fully vaccinated and willing to remain up to date on vaccinations

  • Comfortable working in a screen-free household

  • Respectful of the family’s culture, household expectations, and parenting approach

  • Strong organization and communication skills

  • Comfortable preparing vegetarian meals

  • Able to maintain excellent personal and household hygiene standards

  • Must have reliable transportation to consistently arrive on time

  • Bilingual candidates are a plus, but not required

  • Familiarity with South Indian culture is a wonderful bonus, but absolutely not required

Driving the children is not required, and their school is within walking distance.

BENEFITS

  • $35/hour on payroll

  • Guaranteed hours — final structure to be confirmed

  • paid sick days

  • Some paid vacation days, scheduled in coordination with the family

  • Paid New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day

  • Potential opportunity for additional hours/date nights

  • Long-term position

The nanny will rarely be solely responsible for all three children, particularly in the beginning, as there are typically other adults present in the household.

This could be an especially great opportunity for someone looking to break into professional nannying/private household work and build strong long-term experience with a family. The right personality, work ethic, and attitude are more important here than having years of professional nanny experience.
