A Note to the Nannies Who Trust Us With Their Careers đź’š

Professional nanny sharing a warm moment with two children, representing the trusted relationships and career support Little Sprouts & Co. provides to nannies.

To the nannies who trust Little Sprouts & Co. with something as important as your career—thank you.

We know applying for a new nanny position can feel incredibly personal.

You’re not simply submitting a résumé or looking for your next job. You’re deciding which family you’ll spend your days with, which children you’ll pour your heart into, and which home may become a huge part of your life.

We understand that because we were nannies, too.

Before Little Sprouts & Co. ever existed, we were the ones interviewing with families, walking into a home for the first time, wondering if we made a good impression, navigating difficult conversations, becoming deeply attached to the children in our care, and hoping we had found a family who would value us as much as we valued them.

Those experiences are a huge part of why Little Sprouts & Co. exists today.

You Are More Than a Résumé to Us

When we speak with you, we aren’t only looking at how many years of experience you have or checking boxes on an application.

We want to know you.

What kind of caregiver are you? What makes you light up when you talk about the children you’ve cared for? What type of family environment allows you to do your best work? What are your goals? What matters to you in your next position?

Because having the right experience is only one part of a successful placement.

The right fit matters just as much.

A wonderful nanny can be the wrong fit for a wonderful family—and that doesn’t mean either side did anything wrong.

Our goal is never to convince you to take a job simply because a family is interested.

Our goal is to help you find the family where you can genuinely thrive.

We’re Asking Families Questions, Too

Nannies go through a lot during the hiring process.

Interviews. References. Background checks. Trials. Résumés. Applications.

And we believe families should be prepared for the process, too.

Before we begin searching for their nanny, we spend time learning about their parenting philosophy, expectations, schedule, responsibilities, communication style, compensation, benefits, household dynamics, and what they’re truly looking for in the person caring for their children.

We want you to walk into an interview knowing what you’re interviewing for.

And we want families to understand what it means to employ and respect a professional nanny.

We Will Advocate for You

Sometimes advocacy happens in ways you’ll never see.

It might mean explaining why guaranteed hours matter.

It might mean helping a family understand that additional household responsibilities should be discussed rather than quietly added to a nanny’s role.

It might mean encouraging clear expectations around PTO, holidays, overtime, travel, or scheduling.

It might mean having an uncomfortable conversation so you don’t have to navigate it alone.

And sometimes it simply means listening when something doesn’t feel right.

We can’t promise that every position will be perfect or that every interview will result in a placement.

But we can promise that your voice matters to us.

You Are Allowed to Say No

This is something we want every nanny who works with Little Sprouts to know:

You are allowed to say no.

You can meet a lovely family and decide the position isn’t right for you.

You can go through an interview and realize the commute doesn’t work.

You can learn more about the responsibilities and decide they aren’t aligned with what you’re looking for.

You can complete a trial and simply feel that the connection isn’t there.

We want honest feedback.

Turning down one opportunity will never make us think you’re difficult or ungrateful. We’d much rather hear, “This isn’t the right fit for me,” than watch you accept a position you aren’t excited about.

The best placements happen when both sides genuinely choose each other.

We Want You to Feel Prepared

We care deeply about helping our nannies walk into opportunities feeling confident.

That means helping you prepare for interviews, understand what a family is looking for, get ready for trials, strengthen your professional profile, and present the incredible experience you’ve spent years building.

Sometimes you already have everything a family is looking for—you simply need someone in your corner helping them see it.

That’s part of our job.

Our Relationship Doesn’t End When You Get Hired

Placement day is exciting, but we don’t believe our responsibility disappears once a contract is signed.

Starting with a new family is an adjustment for everyone.

Questions come up. Expectations evolve. Communication can get uncomfortable. Life changes.

We want our nannies to know they can reach out.

Whether you need advice navigating a conversation, have a question about your position, or simply want another perspective, we want Little Sprouts to continue feeling like a resource for you.

From Two Former Nannies, Thank You

We know how much trust it takes to let someone represent you professionally.

Your nanny career may represent years—or even decades—of loving children, supporting parents, navigating milestones, soothing babies at 3 a.m., managing toddler meltdowns, doing school pickups, traveling with families, celebrating birthdays, and becoming part of some of the most important years of a child’s life.

That experience deserves to be respected.

And when you allow Little Sprouts & Co. to be part of your next chapter, we don’t take that responsibility lightly.

We will always strive to listen.

To communicate honestly.

To advocate for professionalism.

To help you feel prepared.

To respect when something isn’t the right fit.

And most importantly, to remember that behind every application is a real person trusting us with their livelihood, their time, and a career they’ve worked incredibly hard to build.

To every nanny who has trusted Little Sprouts & Co., recommended us to another nanny, interviewed with one of our families, or allowed us to be part of your career—thank you.

We’re so grateful you’re here.

With love,

Delaney & Marissa
